Remote or Distance Healing
(Also called Long Distance or Distant Healing)
The vast majority of the work we do is distance healing.
With focused intention, an energy healer can sense the presence of the client and positively influence the client’s energy field through subtle energetic entrainment and connection.
Most people are used to the forms of ‘hands-on treatment’ like Reiki or the more religious ‘laying on of hands’ as a means of treating a person using healing energy. But how does distance healing work without physical touch?
Distance has never been a factor in performing healing work. The client's energy field entrains with the energy and directed intention of the energy healer, who is presenting a very strong vibration of health.
When we are doing distance healing work, we prefer to communicate with the person we are working with, either on the phone or online. Being involved in the healing process at this level enables the client to develop a better understanding of the healing techniques that are being utilized. This, in turn, allows the client greater opportunity for more effective use of these techniques within their own healing work on an ongoing basis. We know that helpful interaction enhances healing and is an integral part of the empowerment process.

A more detailed description of how distance healing works
The healing energy of consciousness is certainly different than physical or electromagnetic energies, but we can at least relate to ‘invisible’ vibrations that convey intention and information from one place to another. An example is the transfer of energy over long distances through satellite TV and cell phones. Electromagnetic energies such as radio waves are all around us traveling at the speed of light.
Some models describe the universe as being like a holograph, wherein the whole is contained in every part.
From another viewpoint, it is not necessarily the case that energy “travels” anywhere. Time and distance are simply concepts that help us to define our reality. The concepts discussed in The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot are especially fascinating in this regard.
Talbot’s book provides us with some clues as to how remote healing works, through discussion about David Bohm, a well known physicist: “Bohm believes the reason subatomic particles are able to remain in contact with one another regardless of the distance separating them is not because they are sending some sort of mysterious signal back and forth, but because their separateness is an illusion. He argues that at some deeper level of reality such particles are not individual entities, but are actually extensions of the same fundamental something."

Some scientists are now recognizing what mystics from many traditions have said for millennium, that we are all connected and that we are not separate. Thus, remote healing energy can affect objects over long distances because we are all connected at a very fundamental level of existence.
Distance Healing Research
Distance Healing has been practiced for centuries in the East and, more recently, many modalities of distant healing are now being recognized and practiced in the West. Institutes such as California Pacific Medical Center and The Institute of Noetic Sciences have done clinical studies on distance healing practices.
